As a small non-profit organization, the Great American Songbook Foundation would not function without the assistance of a small, but dedicated group of volunteers.  Our volunteers must commit to working at least one three-hour shift each week. Training is provided. Volunteer opportunities exist in two areas:

Docents:
Docents are the public face of the organization. A docent must be comfortable talking to large groups, enjoy working with the public, and be flexible. Our docents share their knowledge of the Songbook Gallery exhibits with visitors, create educational opportunities on the fly for school groups, and provide administrative support to staff.

Archives Processors:
Archives Processors assist the Archivist by inventorying collections, pulling artifacts for exhibits, cataloging library materials, and helping with special projects such as digitization. A volunteer in this area must enjoy attention to detail and be proficient in Microsoft Office products. They must also have a desire to learn new technologies.
