Performances
Parsons Dance is an internationally renowned company committed to building new audiences for contemporary dance all over the world.
Friday, June 22
The electrifying troupe will perform their mixed repertory program including David Parsons' stroboscopic masterpiece, "Caught," featuring more than 100 leaps in six minutes by a solo dancer who is repeatedly trapped in mid-motion by the strobe lights, to create an illusion of flight. After thousands of performances worldwide for nearly thirty years, "Caught" continues to thrill audiences at every performance.
Saturday, June 23
The company will perform Remember Me, a full-length dance-theater work and rock-dance opera, featuring music of the Grammy-nominated band, East Village Opera Company. Remember Me is a thoroughly modern re-telling of a classic story of tragic love through contemporary dance, live and recorded music, video projections, lighting, and visual effects. All-new costumes by Project Runway designer Austin Scarlett and dramatic new lighting by Tony Award-winning lighting designer Howell Binkley turn up the passion and embolden David Parsons’ electrifying dance.
